Tin catalyst for specialised polyurethane applications

Fomrez UL-22 tin catalyst in combination with hydrofluoro-olefin (HFO) blowing agents.

HFO blowing agents were developed to address the high ozone depletion potential (ODP) of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and the high Global Warming Potential (GWP) associated with hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).

Fomrez UL-22 (dimethyl mercaptide) is an excellent catalyst for systems which contain HFO blowing agents. Fomrez UL-22 enables maintenance of consistent reactivity over time, foam processability and physical properties of systems. It is applicable to water-blown polyurethane spray foam systems, extruded polystyrene and pressurised 1 and 2 components polyurethane (PUR) foam systems, among others.

Fomrez has been tested with both liquid blowing agents (LBA) and gas blowing agents (GBA), improving the reactive stability of the system over different storage times in both cases.

Fomrez UL-22 as well as Fomrez UL-1 and Fomrez UL-32 imparted a highly consistent gel time over a storage period of 4 weeks when used in combination with Solstice LBA.
