The product that allows you to reduce your electricity consumption (and your bill)

Did you know that Comindex has added a new represented company which manufactures products to improve energy efficiency when added to different formulations? With the constant price rises of electricity and gas, and the goals of reducing consumption of fossil fuels, we are all looking for measures to optimise their consumption.

Our new represented company is Svenska Aerogel. Based in Sweden, they are manufacturers of QUARTZENE, an amorphous precipitated silica aerogel with a very low level of thermal transmission, which provides thermal insulation properties among other features.

For this reason, formulations with this product provide greater energy efficiency and reduce consumption of electricity and gas; consequently, in winter we retain heat within the home, with a warmer and cosier environment; in summer we avoid the entry of heat, achieving a fresh and comfortable environment.

The QUARTZENE range has hydrophobic grades – mainly for outdoor applications – and hydrophilic grades – mainly for indoor applications. Depending on the resin used in the formulation, we can recommend the most suitable product.

In addition to the more familiar applications, these products can be used in a wide range of formulations:
 

  • Thermal insulation coatings for roofs
  • Anti-condensation coatings
  • Fire resistant coatings
  • Fire resistant doors
  • Breathable mortars and plasters
  • ETICS: EPS mortars, panels and foams

In short, the incorporation of QUARTZENE makes it possible to formulate a large range of thermal insulation products, achieving increased energy efficiency in homes.
