New family of solid rheological, biocide-free additives based on HEUR technology for aqueous systems.

Associative polyurethane thickeners comprise a large body of rheological additives for aqueous systems. Most of these products are supplied as water solutions that require various substances to be added, for instance biocides to prevent microbial growth. These products operate differently from solid associative thickeners, which are usually supplied in powder form. However, this method of supply has the drawback of releasing dust during processing, requiring occupational safety measures such as the use of dust masks.

The new RHEOBYK-7650, RHEOBYK-7670 and RHEOBYK-7690 associative thickeners are solid additives with a unique method of supply: they come in the form of flakes, preventing the formation of dust, and they may be added to the formulation either directly or as a pre-gel. RHEOBYK-7650, RHEOBYK-7670 and RHEOBYK-7690 constitute a family of products that cover the whole range of shear forces and they exhibit excellent storage stability.
