Lehmann & Voss, a German chemical speciality manufacturing firm with registered office in Hamburg, revealed its LUVOGARD range of flame retardant products at the latest JEC trade fair.

LUVOGARD systems give flame retardant properties to polyester, epoxy, acrylic resins and PVC plastisols.

A wide variety is available using antimony trioxide, halogens or halogen free systems. LUVOGARD pastes with various carriers such as polyester resin, phosphate esters, plasticizers, water or solvents are pumpable and improve fire resistance.

LUVOGARD FC is a mixture of organo-phosphorous and nitrogen-based derivatives developed especially as flame retardants for thermosetting resins. LUVOGARD FC enhances their effectiveness through a variety of mechanisms including intumescence, thereby forming isolated charring. In addition, it works in combination with the heat sink principle and the formation of non-combustible gases in the situation of fire. Its unique chemistry and structure allows for usage in closed- and open-mould systems.
