Who hasn’t seen movies and series that show how thieves and fraudsters manage to reproduce fake copies of valuable products? Unfortunately, this has also crossed over into real life and to a greater extent than we might think. To be prepared for this threat, Comindex recommends security taggants to protect your products against fraud.

These security taggants can be incorporated in a multitude of products (paints, plastics, inks, textiles, etc.) thanks to their excellent properties:

Stable at high temperatures (450ºC)
Stable at pH between 3 and 14
No colour or opacity due to their small particle size

Available with different levels of security, they adapt to the needs of every client:

IDENTITY: The simplest level of security. This additive is detected using a special UV lamp with a specific wavelength (it is not revealed by other standard UV lamps). It can also be used as a basis for detection using IR spectroscopy.
AUTHENTICITY: It allows the authenticity of the product to be determined using electronic devices, without human error. The security taggant is therefore detected from any location with a suitable portable device.
INTEGRITY: The best solution to track your product throughout the entire value chain until final delivery. Through a quantitative analysis carried out with a spectrometer, you can check the concentration of the additive. In this way, you are able to control the correct use of your product.
GUARDIAN: The most robust anti-fraud solution that uses forensic technology where every security taggant is unique.

Also, in some cases different techniques can be combined to achieve a higher level of security.
