Comindex is one of the companies that have signed up to Envalora, the Collective System of Extended Producer Responsibility (SCRAP) for the industrial sector, which has secured definitive administrative authorisation to operate across Spain from 1 January 2025.

From this date onwards, the obligation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for industrial and commercial packaging, pursuant to Royal Decree 1055/2022 on packaging and packaging waste, will come into force.

Envalora is a Collective System of Extended Producer Responsibility (SCRAP) set up in order to organise and fund the management of industrial and commercial packaging across various sectors of industry, such as chemicals, plastics and construction, among others. With more than 1,300 member companies and a focus on sustainability and the circular economy, Envalora plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable practices within the industry (Envalora, 2025).

Envalora’s operational models for single-use and reusable packaging (including closed-loop and open-loop systems) have been validated by the authorities. These models are pioneering in the design of such systems and enable compliance with the European Packaging Regulation (PPWR), which includes reuse among its key goals.

At Comindex we are committed to the Circular Economy, and by joining Envalora, we aim to remain at the forefront of our sector while effectively adapting to new regulatory challenges.
