More intense and resistant black tones with smoke black pigments

More intense and resistant black tones with smoke black pigments

Carbon black pigments are widely used in many industries due to their ability to provide a uniform black colour, as well as their high lightfastness and heat resistance.

These pigments are obtained from the incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons, producing very fine carbon particles with a high surface-to-volume ratio which absorb light, resulting in an intense black colour.

At Comindex, we are delighted to offer carbon black pigments from our represented company PCBL, the leading manufacturer of these pigments in India. PCBL manufactures its pigments under strict quality control, achieving pigments with low impurity levels and optimal properties.

Although these pigments can be used in various formulations, for applications in thermoplastics they are incorporated into polymers during the manufacturing process for the parts or the finished product, providing an intense black tone and high resistance to light, heat and abrasion. Additionally, they can offer anti-static and electrical conductivity properties.

Thermoplastics containing carbon black pigments are used in a wide range of applications such as automotive parts, packaging, pipes, cables and electronic devices. Some of these pigments are also suitable for applications in food contact or toys.

We offer several grades of pigments for use in thermoplastics:

  • Bleumina – Pigments that combine optimal appearance and durability. They provide high gloss and excellent UV resistance at low dosages. Recommended for engineering plastics (PA, PET, PBT, etc.) and polyolefins.
  • Special grades – These provide good thermal and UV resistance. For special applications such as fibres, films or irrigation pipes.
  • Energia – Grades with high conductivity, especially for conductive polymers, electric cables and batteries.

If you need to develop parts with polyolefins, engineering plastics or any other polymer, check with us and we will assess the best options. With our pigments, you will achieve an intense black tone, high gloss and optimal quality in your parts.

Other applications of carbon black pigments include paints, inks, thermoset resins and PVC plastisols.
