Labema Laboratories specialises in the development and manufacture of liquid corrosion inhibitors for water-based systems used in paints, varnishes, lubricants, hydrosoluble oils, temporary protection, industrial detergents and other fields.

Awarded for its sustainable range

Ever since it was founded in 1989, Labema has been committed to the planet through the sustainable approach it adopts in a host of aspects: environmental friendliness, a high regard for the health and wellbeing of its employees, the search for sustainable products, innovation in the quest for waste-free additives, package recycling, and so on.

Indeed, in 2011 during the Eurocoat exhibition, the company received the first award in the innovation competition for the “Green innovations” category.

Commitment to 2030 Agenda

At Labema, huge efforts are underway to comply with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In order to look after the environment and forge a more sustainable, safe work setting for its employees, the company is re-asserting its commitment to pursue the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

	Fair wages			Flu vaccination rollout Installation of ionisers in communal areas to reduce the spread of COVID
	Free English classes for employees who are interested			Replacement of diesel forklifts for electrical and gas-propelled ones that do not pollute
	Continual endeavours to reduce plastics: IBC recycling Extension of expiry dates to limit the destruction of additives that are still functional			Development of a range of sustainable products based on non-fossil raw materials Formation of stations – reactor and transfer pump – specifically for each additive to avoid the need for cleaning and, as a result, reduce the generation of pollutant effluent and water wastage

Sustainability does not (simply) mean being environmentally friendly; it entails managing resources in a way that allows the planet’s inhabitants to benefit from wellbeing without compromising that of future generations.

Consequently, at Comindex we are extremely proud to be able to show off how our represented companies – Labema in this instance – have been committed to these goals since their inception in order to achieve a sustainable balance by looking after their employees and, of course, the environment.

With commitments such as the one they take on, we are ever closer to meeting the global goals of the 2030 Agenda.
