If you are looking for high performance coatings with increased chemical and abrasion resistance, Comindex recommends Silixan high performance resins.

From the various ranges that they manufacture – Silixan A, Silixan CAT, Silixan M, Silixan S, Silixan T, Silixan U, Silixan W – we would like to highlight the Silixan W range.

The Silixan W range is recommended for formulating waterborne coatings with high anti-corrosion performance and improved abrasion and chemical resistance in transparent varnishes and pigmented coatings. Furthermore, it presents an improvement in adhesion on both aluminium and steel, as well as interlayer adhesion, i.e., improved overcoatability.

These resins can also serve as co-binders in waterborne polyurethane or acrylic systems, improving their properties against corrosion and increasing chemical and abrasion resistance.

Some areas of application where its use is recommended include:

Direct-to-metal (DTM) coatings on aluminium or steel without primer
Improvement of abrasion resistance in waterborne temperature curing polyurethane (2K) systems
In combination with melamine-cured resins
