The current trend in a range of sectors – for instance, with wood, packaging or decorative paint – is to achieve matt coatings, with low gloss levels and a more natural appearance. To achieve this effect, Comindex recommends using Lingwe’s silica matting agents.

The TSA range of products – recommended for a host of applications – is achieved through a wetting process using gel technology. For completion, an alkaline treatment is applied to increase pore size achieving greater matting strength. This system attains the following properties:

High matting efficiency
Transparency
Low oil absorption
Easy incorporation into the formulation

This host of products includes the TSA-L range, to which an oxidised PE wax-based surface treatment has been applied which enhances the feel properties in the formulations along with anti-sedimentation properties.

There is a wide variety of fields of application ranging from the most common – coatings for wood, industrial paints, inks and plastics – to other more specific uses such as coatings for coil, textile, leather and inkjet.
