AB RUST HSA, a new corrosion inhibitor for cooling systems

Tuesday, 15 March, 2016

Laboratoires LABEMA has developed a new additive for aqueous formulations that prevents several metals from rusting in cooling systems. It is the new AB RUST HSA.

AB RUST HSA is a liquid preparation with a range of rust inhibitors that protects metal parts, installations and surfaces of varying chemical nature such as: copper, brass, aluminium, steel, iron and cast aluminium.

AB RUST HSA can be introduced directly into the fluid in the cooling circuit to prevent the system from rusting. It is also recommended for use in metal cleaning product formulations with a neutral and alkaline pH (pH of up to 11). It is effective in aqueous formulations and formulations with oxygenated solvents in water. The recommended dose of this additive is between 1 and 2% of the formulation total.

AB RUST HSA does not contain amines, sodium nitrite, phosphates, borates or silicates and it is entirely VOC-free.

AB RUST HSA is recommended as a substitute for potassium chromate, a substance with high toxicity which is gradually disappearing as an anti-rust treatment in cooling systems on account of regulation demands.

This new reference adds to the range of products already on offer from LABEMA, available on the market under the brand names EMADOX, AB RUST and VEGERUST.

Since 1989, the French company Laboratoires LABEMA has been developing and producing corrosion inhibitors for the paint and varnish industry worldwide, and also for manufacturers of lubricants, detergents, wood treatments, cooling systems and special fuels.
