ADINSClean is a photocatalytic additive based on a titanium dioxide functionalised sepiolite that can catalyse the degradation of organic matter on a surface by the action of sunlight.

Incorporating ADINSClean into a paint formulation for façades provides self-cleaning and decontaminant surfaces. This reduces maintenance costs and improves environmental quality as it diminishes the build-up of pollutants (NOx or VOCs), largely generated by heavy traffic in major urban areas.

The ADINSClean technology is unique. Unlike other products on the market, the titanium dioxide nanoparticles are synthesised on sepiolite, a mineral characterised by a needle-like shape. Accordingly, the nanoparticles – the functional part of the additive – have a greater effective surface and avoid agglomeration, as shown in the graphical depiction and in the electron microscope image. This means greater effectiveness with lower doses.

Aside from paints for façades, other applications include coatings, ceramics, mortars, concrete and asphalt.

Comindex is the exclusive distributor of this additive in Spain, Portugal and Morocco.
