Photocatalysis: reduction of environmental impact

Photocatalysis: reduction of environmental impact

Wednesday, 14 March, 2018

Comindex is a company that is devoted to reducing environmental impact thanks to the innovative technology of functional additives based on natural silicates doped with photocatalytic particles, the active surface of the additive gains stability and is enhanced, meaning that the system where it is applied is thereby able to remove dirt and pollution by the action of UV light exposure.

ADINSClean is based on TiO2 particles physically bonded to sepiolite granting good dispersion and even distribution and more availability of the active surface. Thus, lower doses of the active agent can be used.

ADINSClean is designed to lend functionality to various surfaces by means of photocatalytic activity on paints and coatings, thereby reducing the environmental impact of the pollutants present in the atmosphere thanks to the removal of NOx and other organic pollutants (VOCs), in addition to its self-cleaning properties. Accordingly, it acts on two levels:

  1. Decontamination: it makes it possible to reduce the levels of nitrogen oxide (NOx), the volatile organic compounds (VOC) present in urban hubs.
  2. Self-cleaning: as a result of photocatalysis, organic dirt embedded on the surface can be degraded.
